Kaiser Idell, Germany
Designed by the German Silversmith Christian Dell in the 1930’s, the KAISER idell series carries significant representation towards the Bauhaus era. Dell, who worked as a foreman at the metal workshop in Bauhaus, is referred to as one of the key figures in determining the Bauhaus principals which has had a significant influence on Danish design. This is apparent through the works of Arne Jacobsen and Poul Kjærholm, whose designs carry elements of the Bauhaus design style.
The asymmetrical design of the KAISER idell lampshade is a characteristic feature of the lamp design. Manufactured in high-quality steel, the shade is hand-painted in its distinctive original colours. With its unique quality, precision engineering and craftsmanship, the KAISER idell series exuberates originality, sculptural excellence and pure design at its best.
